Nautor’ Swan is a Finnish luxury sailing yacht builder founded in 1966 by Pekka Koskenkylä and based in Jakobstad. It currently employs nearly 400 people. Since the company's founding, just over 2,000 Swan yachts have been produced, ranging from 36 to 131 feet in length. The historic Kållby yard, just outside Jakobstad, is dedicated to manufacturing Swans hulls. It also includes an indoor water facility to test yachts before delivery. The builder also has a factory in Kronoby, near Jakobstad, where expert carpenters work, dedicated to making the wooden interiors that are characteristic of all Swan yachts. The yard became known for its range of Nautor’ Swan fiberglass models. In the 1980s, the manufacturer entered a new era with the appointment of Argentinian Germán Frers as designer. In 2002, a new shipyard, close to the sea, was opened in Jakobstad. The new shipyard is dedicated to the assembly of the three new ranges of the manufacturer: "Maxi" Swan Yachts, from the "Swan 60" to the "Swan 115". In August 2012, a Swan 90S named Freya was the 2000th Swan to be built and launched by the yard. Today NAUTOR'SWAN produces 14 models divided into three categories, CLUBSWAN YACHTS, SWAN YACHTS and MAXI SWAN YACHTS.
