BENETEAU is a French shipbuilder, a subsidiary of the BENETEAU group. Founded in 1884 by Benjamin Bénéteau, in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie in Vendée. Benjamin Bénéteau, begins with the construction of robust sail trawlers. His objective was to produce boats for the artisanal fishing industry by being innovative, he launched the first sailing trawler, then the first motor tuna in 1912. In 1964, the third generation of the Bénéteau family, Annette Roux and André Bénéteau opened up to yachting and introduced polyester resin, which replaced wood in the construction of new ranges of boats. After nearly a century of shipbuilding, Bénéteau experienced an artistic crisis within society, in 1976 she decided to collaborate with an architect from outside the family, a first for the latter. In 1982, Bénéteau became the world leader in the sailboat market and celebrated its centenary in 1984, the year in which it was listed on the stock exchange. During the 90s, the company grew and became the BENETEAU group with the takeover of CNB, Jeanneau, Lagoon, Wauquiez. The manufacturer is also launching its first Oceanis 350 followed very quickly by Oceanis 430, they are an instant success. It is one of the most popular models in The Oceanis Yacht line. The builder is therefore one of the major players in the field of naval innovation. In 2017, it had a fleet of 8,700 boats, comprising a wide diversification with its 7 ranges of sailboats and 7 ranges of motor yachts. They stand out nobly and challenge all their competitors. In 2021, thanks to the Flyer 9 SUNdeck, he postponed the European Motor Yacht Of The Year Awards 2021. In addition, in 2021, Seanapps shows the remarkable development of BENETEAU. It is an application which helps to secure and optimize the maintenance of the vessel. This new application introduces the era of the connected boat. The FROLSON team is proud to have and continue to insure the yachts produced by BENETEAU through the confidence of our policyholders and our network of partners around the world.
