Claims Management & Prevention
Proactive maintenance and precise documentation are the keys to total serenity. We guide you through optimizing your procedures to avoid incidents and accelerate settlements.
Prevention Strategy: Avoiding Claims
A major claim is often the consequence of minor technical failures or lack of maintenance. Addressing these proactively is your first line of defense.
Technical Modifications
WARNING : Never undertake technical modifications on your yacht without warning the insurance company.
Always warn the insurer when you go to the shipyard. Unreported changes can void your coverage.
Sailing Yacht Rigging
Check the rigging every 2 – 3 years by a professional.
Whatever the insurance company, reimbursement may be refused if a rigging failure is traced back to a lack of maintenance.
Engine Maintenance
Maintain your engines regularly. “Machinery breakdown” is covered, but not wear and tear.
If a surveyor notes the breakdown is due to lack of maintenance or normal wear, the claim will be rejected.
