Queen Long Marine is a renowned yacht builder based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, best known as the founder and builder of the Hylas Yachts brand. The company was established in 1978 by Joseph Huang and remains a family-owned and operated shipyard, now led by the third generation. Queen Long initially gained recognition building blue-water cruising yachts like the Stevens 47 and Peterson 46, popular in both private ownership and the charter industry during the early 1980s. In 1984–85, Queen Long officially launched the Hylas brand, beginning with the Hylas 42 and Hylas 44 designed by German Frers, and has since continually partnered with top naval architects including Sparkman & Stephens, Bill Dixon, and Zurn Yacht Design. Over the decades, Queen Long has delivered more than 520 yachts, with their range expanding from classic sailing models (such as the Hylas 46, 49, 54, 63, 66, and 70) to luxury power yachts. Their yachts are prized for custom interiors, robust construction, and a blend of comfort and offshore performance, earning a strong reputation among long-distance cruisers. The shipyard operates from a modern 32,000 sq ft facility that integrates advanced production, laminating, painting, and a full-size test tank. Queen Long Marine continues to be active, building both sailing and motor yachts under the Hylas name, and is highly respected for its engineering, craftsmanship, and customer-focused approach to semi-custom yacht building.
